Whiffy Pillows (Herbal aromatherapy and motion sickness sachets)
The idea for these was borne out of my own desire for a homemade version of a salt inhaler to help with my own seasonal allergies and asthma, and a conversation with a friend about what might help her allergic and motion-sick daughter on a long flight.
Having my own poor reactions to essential oils (and I am not alone in this) necessitates ingenuity in all things aromatic. Herbs' scents can be unstable and generally not long-lasting. Perfumery is still an area that is beyond my expertise, and a "whole other animal" to me right now. I am dabbling, but in the meantime, I can bring scents only with very strongly scented dried herbs themselves. Mint is one of these, as is ginger, lemonbalm, valerian, and lavender.
I can also use herbs that are not very strongly scented but that have therapeutic value, such as mullein. If you'd like a custom order, please use the CONTACT form to send me a message.
I have redesigned my original concept for these so that they can be refreshed, and the scented herbs changed out very easily. They are nicely weighted for those with seeking sensory input and a comfort item easily held in the hand of even a small child. I can accommodate lots of scents, and most of the herbs are grown in my garden and dried carefully by myself, for optimal scent and freshness. Other herbs are purchased from reputable companies and herbalists using organic growing methods. I can make these in almost any color, if you have a preference, with organza drawstring bags. I can also package them entirely in unbleached cotton bags, if you prefer.
Perfect for traveling, easily portable, and not intrusive to others around you like essential oils can be. As with all of my products, these contain only herbs, and NO essential oils whatsoever.
